“Saaya- Touching Lives” is a non-profit organisation established for doing charity work. Through the platform of Saaya we are collectively giving towards worthy causes, and making a small difference in the lives of the less fortunate in the communities we live. .
Saaya organises charity events (which are 100% sponsored) to raise funds and donations, so every $ collected from the ticket sale and the generous donations from individuals is given towards a worthy cause. It is our desire through this platform to communicate and spread the word on exemplary social work performed by individuals or organisations who selflessly work in supporting various causes for the less fortunate. Saaya originated in 2016 with an idea of giving back to the community.
Sophie is a happy go lucky six-year-old. She is the youngest of five children and loves to play with her brother and three sisters. Sophie was diagnosed with a brain tumour at age three which affected her development. Her muscles were weakened and her field of vision diminished. With continued therapy Sophie has overcome some significant challenges including learning to walk again. Sophie's brothers and sisters all have bikes which they ride together. “I didn’t think it would be possible for Sophie to ride a bike,” said her mum, Rebecca. Sophie was assessed by TAD’s therapist who set up a custom Freedom Wheels bike just for her. “I couldn’t put into words what it was like to see her on the bike, to see her riding like our other children and to see how happy she was made us very teary,” said Rebecca. Sophie now rides her Freedom Wheels bike with her brother and sisters. “She just loves her Freedom Wheels bike, every day she wants to go riding. Trying to get her inside is a challenge,” Rebecca jokes. Rebecca would definitely recommend Freedom Wheels because “getting out and about with friends and family can bring such happiness and will give your child confidence to try other things too. As parents it makes us so happy to see Sophie enjoying herself, “ she said. Children like Sophie get the special equipment they need thanks to Sayaa Touching Lives who give back to their community through their generous fundraising that supports local charities like TAD.

According to mum, Elvan, six year old Aylin is a very happy, social girl who loves interacting with other kids and loves the outdoors. Because Aylin has Angelman Syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by epilepsy, her development has been delayed and she has problems with motor coordination and balance and cannot walk. Aylin’s brothers love riding their bikes to the park and mum had always hoped there would be a way for Aylin to join them. Elvan was very impressed with the process: “The assessment was very thorough, and the TAD therapist made sure that Aylin got all the support she needed to ride her bike.” Aylin absolutely loves riding her bike. She rides her bike to the local park with her two brothers and mum couldn’t be happier. “When we saw Aylin ride a bike for the first time and actually enjoy it, it gave us such a feeling of excitement. It was very emotional and so great to see her partake in an activity with her brothers.” Elvan now hopes that Aylin will be supported to learn how to walk with the added strength and coordination from riding. TAD volunteers also built a special table for Aylin to help with feeding and is also used for play- time whilst Aylin builds her strength through standing. “As a family we are so grateful for of TAD. Their work and how they help families like ours to meet our kid’s needs is amazing,” said Elvan. Equipment for children like Aylin is so vital and one size does not fit all. Thanks to Saaya Touching Lives TAD volunteers can continue to work with local families to support their children to reach their goals.
